Checking in

The check-in area is on the ground floor of the terminal building. All flight numbers and destinations are displayed on the monitors at the entrance to the terminal building, indicating which desk you should check in at.

Self service check-in - Self service check-in (online and kiosk) is available to some passengers departing from Edinburgh Airport. Refer to the official BAA Edinburgh web site for more information.

Boarding - Boarding usually begins around 45 minutes before departure.

Arriving passengers

Passport control - For passengers not making a connecting flight passport control is the first stop where there are two separate queuing areas - one for European Union (EU) and British nationals, the other for all other nationalities.

Baggage - After passport control follow the arrivals signs to the baggage reclaim area. Monitors will display flight numbers and the corresponding carousel from where you can collect your luggage.

Customs and immigration - When connecting from an international flight to a UK flight you must clear customs and immigration, if you are connecting from an international flight to another international flight you will not need to clear customs.
